Magdalena Zielinski - Barber

Although she is new to Paulie’s, Magdalena (or Lena - pronounced Leh-nah) is a veteran of the Vancouver hair industry with more than 7 years of barbering experience. She is skilled at all lengths and textures and equally comfortable crafting classic cuts or experimenting with modern trends.

Outside of the shop, Magdalena stays busy with hobbies like pottery and learning Japanese, but her main focus is her pup, Juniper. You might want to arrive a little early to your appointment—she’ll likely want to share some recent dog videos.

Brit Otto - Barber

Brit is a recent graduate of the Blanche Macdonald hair program and we are pleased to have her join us at Paulie’s. For a new barber, she has shown exceptional skill and a great desire to learn and experiment with new styles.

A resident of East Van for the past decade, Brit is a motorcycle enthusiast and a music fanatic. As the host of a weekly bside radio show, we’ll leaning on Brit to provide Paulie’s with a fresh new soundtrack.

Frankie Lunot - Barber

Hailing from beautiful Delta, BC, Frankie has accomplished a lot in her relatively fresh barbering career. Having worked in both a salon and barber environment, Frankie is a very skilled and comfortable with all lengths and textures. Wanna try something outside of the box with your hair? Frankie is definitely your barber.

In and out of the shop, it’s common to find Frankie watching sports. As the youngest member of the team, she often serves as our tiktok translator and explainer of new trends.

Lyosha Slychenyuk - Barber

Pronounced Low-sha, Lyosha joined our crew in September 2022. He is a native of Ukraine and moved to Canada in the spring of 2022.

Lyosha has been a barber for over 6 years and we are very impressed with his skill and attention to detail. He has quickly become the in shop “beard master” and we are thrilled to have him on the team. Not just a talented barber, Lyosha is also an accomplished runner having recently completed the BMO marathon.

Darcy Hancock - Barber

Darcy is a veteran of Main Street, having lived local for the better part of the past two decades.  A graduate of the Toni & Guy academy, Darcy has been cutting hair off and on for the past 15 years.

Darcy is an accomplished musician and an active contributor to Vancouver's music scene.  He also makes a pretty mean sandwich.  Please note, he's the oldest guy in the shop, so you may have to speak up a bit.

Will O'Reilly - Barber

Prior to moving to Vancouver and joining Paulie’s in 2017, Will spent the previous 10 years cutting hair at his family's barbershop just outside of Dublin, Ireland.

His interests include TV and movies,  hiking and talking about training for triathlons.  On Will's day off you'll commonly find him out exploring our local mountains or kicking tires on craigslist cars. 

Paul Donnici - Barber/Owner

Paul was proud to open Paulie's Barbershop in December of 2015.

When he's not cutting or spending time with his little girl Luisa, he is most happy simultaneously watching both football and baseball, eating a hot plate of homemade pasta and sipping on affordable red wine.
